The Mindful Monkey: Learning to Meditate
Have you always wanted to learn to meditate? This is your chance to start the year by cultivating the habit! The course is by students for students, but university employees can join as well.
Once a week, for five weeks, you'll get more insight into how your mind works. In a group context, you'll begin to relate differently to your endlessly churning mind. In between (and hopefully after) the sessions you'll apply the knowledge into your daily life through (in)formal practice.
What to expect?
This course is open to everyone, no matter your meditation experience has the main goal to have you build upon step-by-step a meditation practice that works for you.
By signing up, you're making a commitment to attend at least 4 of the 6 sessions.
This is because missing out two lessons will make it highly difficult to follow the rest of the course (especially the first two lessons which are fundamental).
Contents of Sessions:
- Theory and tips on meditation + mindfulness and its practice
- Guided meditations
- Sharing circles where you can share your experience and receive feedback

About Your Instructor
My name is Beau , and I first discovered meditation 6 years ago. I started to cultivate my practice by joining Student Meditation through its guided meditations and mindfulness-related events. As time passed I became more involved in the team; this will be my second time teaching this course. I have also hosted events such as Authentic Relating, Experiential Dance, Death Cafe and others. When I'm not meditating, you can find me as a teaching Dutch, playing table tennis in the park, and listening to music.
